Moved to Toronto in 1964. In 1965, she put her daughter up for adoption. Her daughter was raised in Don Mills and later became a model. Mother and daughter were reunited in 1997.

CBC.ca hosts a radio interview from 1974, in which (in about the middle of the interview) she recounts some experiences early in her career at Toronto clubs
Halfbeat and Mousehole. Bernie, club-owner of Mousehole, said he thought her music was a failure but he would call her when he "needed a dishwasher".
